COBALT-CHROME ALLOYS FOR DENTAL PROSTHETICS

As a proven material in dental technology, the cobalt alloy for dental prosthetic frameworks is a key component of our offering. The material is composed chemically of molybdenum, chromium, and cobalt, and it has high corrosion resistance. We particularly recommend a CoCr alloy for long-span bridges, as the modulus of elasticity allows for precise design and excellent applicability for the laser melting process.

COCR AS A BIOCOMPATIBLE DENTAL PROSTHETIC

The current scientific consensus on non-precious metals (NEM) attributes high biocompatibility to them. For CoCr alloys, neither local nor systemic toxicity has been found – the material is beryllium- and nickel-free.
This results in particularly good physiological compatibility. Our production process involves processing the material using our 5-axis milling machine and/or with the laser melting system. Both methods promise high accuracy. The milled solution offers a detailed chewing surface that only needs to be polished. The SLM process allows for very delicate constructions, as no milling tolerance is required with this method. This reduces issues related to space constraints.
