DENTURE MANUFACTURING WITH CAM MILLING

In production, we rely on a method that has clearly proven its effectiveness in terms of product quality since its initial application in the 1980s: Computer Aided Manufacturing.

COMPUTER AIDED MANUFACTURING (CAM)

In Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), either subtractive or additive methods are used. CAM milling is classified as a subtractive process. The use of CAM software prevents errors in the process, allows for simulation and collision control, and accelerates the workflow – from data collection and processing to milling.

CAD/CAM IN DENTAL TECHNOLOGY

For dental technology, the use of modern CAD/CAM technologies offers numerous advantages. Milling with a CNC machine can be performed with pinpoint accuracy and consistent dimensional control due to programming – a crucial factor in the production of dental prosthetics, where fit and precision are essential. Additionally, the introduction of CAD/CAM often expands the product range of a dental laboratory.

Typically, 5-axis milling machines are used in dental technology for both wet and dry processing. This enables precise simultaneous milling to create homogeneous objects of the highest quality, characterized by exceptionally smooth surfaces and accurately milled internal features. Complex geometries can also be implemented effortlessly, with a variety of materials.

Materials Used

At CADmill, only materials from German manufacturers are used. They meet the standard medical and quality requirements and allow for optimal biocompatibility of the dental prosthetics:

Titanium

Zirconium

CoCr Alloys

PMMA

PEEK

Glass/Hybrid Ceramic

Wax
